Try Me. Why Using A Travel Agent Makes Sense

Let's Plan Your Next Adventure
One of the biggest misconceptions about using a travel advisor is that somehow, we're making your vacation more expensive.
I hear it all the time.
"Won't it cost more if I use you?"
"Do you charge extra?"
"Who pays you?"
Why should I use a travel agent when I can use an online resource?
And my personal favorite...
"I can probably find a better deal online."
First of all, I love a challenge.
Second, try me.
Seriously.
Because what most people don't realize is that when you work with a travel advisor, you're not just paying for a hotel room, a cruise cabin, or a flight.
You're investing in expertise, research, connections, organization, problem-solving, and the peace of mind that comes from having someone in your corner before, during, and sometimes even after your trip.
The funny thing is, I've been doing this my whole life and didn't even realize it.
Years before I became a travel advisor, I moved to Atlanta. Whenever friends or family came to visit, I wasn't about to let them just sit around.
Oh no no no no!
We were going to experience the city.
There was going to be a plan.
There was going to be food.
There was going to be an adventure.
And there was definitely going to be a detailed itinerary floating around somewhere.
People would laugh and say, "You so extra."
And honestly?
They're right.
I am extra.
I always have been.
Not because I need everything to be perfect, but because I love experiences. I love creating memories. I love finding the hidden gems. I love watching people enjoy something they might have never discovered on their own.
For me, life has always been about the adventure and memories we make!
When I planned family vacations to Las Vegas, cruises, and road trips, my dad would just shake his head and laugh.
"It's always an adventure."
And if someone looked at one of my itineraries and raised an eyebrow, he would smile and say:
"That's just who she is. She can't help herself."
The truth is that he was right.
I can't help myself.
It's who I am.
It's why being a travel advisor doesn't feel like work.
It feels natural.
Because helping people has always brought me joy.
Serving others has always brought me joy.
Creating experiences that people remember years later has always brought me joy.
Not everyone gets the blessing of finding work that aligns perfectly with who they already are.
But thank God, I do.
And I don't take that for granted.
When someone hires me, I don't just want them to go somewhere.
I want them to experience it.
I want them to arrive confident.
I want them to know the details have been handled.
I want them to stop stressing about whether they forgot something.
I want them to focus on making memories instead of making spreadsheets.
And for my birthday folks, group trip leaders, destination wedding couples, family reunion planners, and friend groups—I want you to actually enjoy your event.
I want your guests to show up saying, "Wow, this was put together really well."
I want you to be present instead of managing logistics.
I want you to be the hero without having to do all the work.
So, if you've ever wondered whether using a travel advisor is worth it...
If you've ever thought, you might get a better deal on your own...
If you've ever questioned whether having someone in your corner makes a difference...
My answer is simple.
Try me!
Let me show you what I do.
Let me show you the difference between booking a trip and designing an experience.
Because at Kiya & Co. Travel by Design, that's what we're really creating.
Not just vacations.
We are Designing Adventures.
And if you ask my family, that's just who I am.
I can't help myself!
